File Info

If a file belongs to a project you can customize it's functionality and general features as it pertains to the project. A files information is unique to the project it belongs to so changing info on the same file in different projects will still result in unique information.

11.0 General

General file info contains the options that are most often used.

  • Remote. If a file has a server selected it's FTP URL will be shown here.
  • Label. The label drawn in the project browser.
  • Preview. Preview mode for the file. This overrides the project default.
  • External. If checked, the file will always preview using the default browser.
  • Run. Run mode for the file. This overrides the project default.
  • Path. A custom path for the file which override all others. This is used for files that have path conflicts with other files using the same name.

Script info lets you manage script arguments used for simulating user input when executing the file. Read more about script arguments here.

11.2 FTP

Each file lets you define a web server used for FTP operations and previewing. Read more about setting a files server here.

  • Server. The server description to use for the file.
  • Directory. Custom directory appended to the servers URL.
  • Arguments. GET arguments appended to the URL during preview operations.

Preview paths let you override the location and method that WebScripter uses to generate preview URL's. Read more about preview paths here.

11.4 Notes

Notes give you a convenient place you keep some quick info about the file for later reference.
